Who I am
Sowell Seed and Soil is a space where modern homesteading meets intentional living. It’s important to me to create a nurturing environment by sharing our journey with gardening, homesteading, cooking, and family moments, while embracing a low-tox lifestyle. From simple, sustainable practices to the joy of sweet treats and modern leisure activities, I offer inspiration for families seeking balance and a more mindful way of living. My content celebrates the beauty of slow living, health-conscious choices, and the connection between family, food, and nature. I fully embrace the beauty of balance. We don’t need to do it all, and we especially shouldn’t do it all alone. Here on my blog, you will find recipes, gardening tips and tricks, and perhaps random tidbits of our family story.
I take pride in this being my virtual food diary of all my tried, true, and well-loved recipes. Ever since I was a little girl, I have always had an interest in cooking. More than that, at a young age I had the desire to “mix things up”, to add new ingredients to recipes just to see what it’s like. I remember around 10 years of age, I would find the Food Network channel on TV, and spend many hours watching shows (sorry Mom), soaking up as much information as possible. Like many, I thoroughly enjoy a good home cooked meal. I take pride in cooking dishes that make my heart and soul happy.
For me, cooking is an act of love. Fiancé had a hard day? Don’t worry, I’ll make your favorite dinner! Kids want a special treat? Let’s bake something together and laugh as we do it. When someone really cares about food and the ingredients that go into it, I fully believe you can actually taste it in a dish. And with these recipes, this blog, I hope that when you recreate it, you feel the love I put into it as well. Thanks for stopping by.
All the best,
Sierra
